Well hi everyone, it has been a long day and night. I would just like to say congratulations
to my Brother (Dany) and my main squeeze (George) for putting on a great show.
It was a lot of fun @ the voodoo lounge.
The night started rather smoothly with the opening dj Pete putting on some
smooth housy grooves to get the tempo started, and he played a great Dave Gahan
track, (I am a big Dave Gahan/depeche mode fan). I thought his mixing and his
progression was really fluid and nice.
The big moment for me was when my Big Brother approached the decks and opened
with some great beats. It was his first time and i thought under how much pressure
he felt, he did well. The kid is all growns up now and finally appeared in public.
This could hopefully be one of many nights. I was very surprised at how good
he did, and he gave me a really really great surprise. The big surprise was
the new PVD single "time of our lives" that I guess he received on
vinyl not too long ago. I truly enjoyed that and I hope he did too.
11:30 didn't come soon enough for the man George and how good it was. He also
was very smooth and looked at ease on the decks and I really enjoyed watching
him spin. I think George was meant to be a dj lol. George's track selection
got the party moving a little bit and everyone seemed to be very jumpy while
he was playing. He had a surprise for me as well the B-side to the new PVD single
which is "connected" off of his Motorola commercial. I really got
going at that point and yes there is truth to the statement B-sides are better.
then it happened Gaaf our headliner got on at 12:30 and dropped some really
funky, sexy, and dirty beats. Now that’s what I’m talking about.
He pulled out some tricks and played some very nice beats that were mixed smoothly.
now I only stayed until about 1 O'clock and it was fun because I had to run.
I feel bad that I don't have anything to say but I am sure it was getting better
every step of the way. Gaaf is a real class person and it was so much fun. I
do promise to catch one of his full sets I do promise that.
The reason I had to run was because I went to go and see NU-NRG @ arc and they
were something else. more about that another time until then peace.
