Maybe in your small little world. Have you been to ANY of those events I've posted? I can think of only a few nights ever over the past two years where those events haven't been at the top of their game!

As to how old I am, who fucking cares? You're the one who sounds like an angry teenager whose parents won't let him go out past 11pm. I've been an active part in the electronic music scene for 14 years and counting, in three different states, and I know a good thing when I see it!

Sounds to me like you need to get out more, man, and not to the places you've been frequenting!

anyone that thinks DC is dead right now has their head waaaaaaaaaaaaay up their ass.

try looking in places you haven't before!
there is a TON of stuff going on right now.

just last weekend alone you could have seen Marc Houle Live (M_nus, Berlin) at muse on thursday, then Gene Farris at loda on friday OR Derrick May at Clinic on Friday, then Timmy Regisford at the Shelter Party in DC on Saturday, then Sam Burns at the Underground Soul Solution @ ESL on Sunday.

that isn't even listing all your options, but its giving you some pretty good ones thats for damn sure. i'm so fucking sick and tired of people saying DC is dead.

WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE.....
DC IS THRIVING.

The bottomline is that DC really just sucks now and has sucked for a while. In fact dance music sucks now and has for a while. I think there has been a trend ever since electro for many DJs to wank off behind the tables, or more likely these days his computer, rather than focus on keeping a good vibe going. I'm one of those people who feeds off the energy. Most of the shit I hear being spun these days sounds like four hours worth of video game audio samples. Save that for your basement dudes. Keep the energy high. Sometimes I can't really blame peeps who wander out of curiosity or mistake into the main room from the hip hop or reggae room and turn right around because the DJ is spinning some minimal boring bullshit. It might be different if they walked into a room heaving with people. Also, right now, these big venues suck. They come across as McClubs and don't fit anyone's needs except the super big names. There's few things more depressing than getting psyched with a few of your friends to go out and then seeing three people on the dance floor and a few scattered around along the bar and tables and checking your watch only to realize it's primetime and it's not going to get any better. Also, the people suck in the DC metro area too. No loyalty. Everyone is so yuppified and or fresh out of college Starbucks junkies. I really don't know how back 8 years or so it was so much better. Perhaps it was a trend for many people. That sucks too.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT YOU ARE SOUNDING LIKE A COMPLETE JACKASS.

please list what you would classify as "good" dance music so i can list some events for you to check out. you obviously aren't looking very hard for something to do around here.

If you don't like minimal than maybe some of the places mentioned might not be your cup of tea.
If you don't like Fur or Ibiza then i guess your don't like Trance/Prog/Electro House (in which Trance is meant to be played in a big venue) or you don't like the crowd.

Well what type of music do you like ?

wussup barry!
this dude just sounds pathetic in general.
one of those people who is going to complain no matter what.

DC has more going on right now than it has in years - so anyone that really thinks the scene is dead was obviously never that into the scene in the first place...... if he was, he would know that there are plenty of quality EDM events in DC every single week.

i can't really comment because i haven't been going out lately so i can save my $$ and go on vacation at least once a month to somewhere warm or snowy. but out of curiosity, are any of these parties PACKED consistently throughout the night.

Well the parties that have experienced promoters/DJ's in general are usually bumpin. There are many places that are "packed". What i guess most people who complain are people that are jaded or they like a specific music with a specific vibe they can't find or don't know where to go. Message boards (like this) are useful for that.

Def true! What always amused the fuck out of me is how many jackoffs wear business suits and ties when they go out clubbing on the weekend. WTF is that all about? Do chicks look at a guy and go "hey, he looks like he has a white collar job. He can afford to buy me drinks!"

"When I need my weather, there is only one place I turn to: EPIC Weather. On the Weather Channel." ~ Andy 'muthafokin' Moore

Lets watch Dom promise joining the Armed Forces, then back out 5 minutes later.

DOM:
I would be willing to enlist, unlike you, point proven .I said it in 2001 and my stance hasn't changed, If somebody attacks American on our soil and gets on tv or net and says come get us you Yankee p*ssies. I would join the military in 2 seconds.

Al-Qaeda isnt a country moron. They are a global organizations of scumbags.

First of all bin ladon didn't take credit for attacks in 2001, he denied it until 2004. When was he elected president of Afghanistan?2000?If so hes had a great 11 run so far... Considering hes been rumored to be in Pakistan for years, he doesn't fit into either of my criteria's.

Dom's daily to do list:

1- Kiss his "wife" on his way out of his house
2- Blame everything on Obama
3- Give no credit to Obama, even when Bin Laden, al-Awlaki, and Gaddafi were taken care of
3- Dump all his work on his secretary
4- Twitter, facebook for 2 hours
5- Post on Yankee/Jets/Knicks blogs
6 - Read conservative blogs and watch Fox
7- Select items from said sources that he lift and pass on as his own
8- Get schooled on his ignorance everyday
9- Spray tan so he's ready to club 24/7/365 for the next epic party that he will attend
