Release Your Self Opening Party @ Pacha

Not much to say about this one. It was quite a dull night. Roger Sanchez didn’t live up to what I have seen of him in the past, and it was the emptiest I have seen Pacha since they have opened all the rooms.

At first I thought maybe it was slow because we got there close to 3am, and it was the middle of an 8 hour set, but by 630am it still hadn’t gone any where, so we went home. The only track I heard all night that really excited me was Stellar Pro-Ject – “Get Up, Stand Up”, and he played the vocal which I don’t like at all. The track works so much better without lyrics.

One other thing that really got me was that he played all of his set off one CDJ-1000 with out ever changing CDs. I don’t know if the newest versions of the Pioneer CDJs are capable of playing 2 tracks off the same mp3 CD or now. If so, it doesn’t really bother me. It seems like most of the big DJs this summer are favoring CDs. I know Morillo and Deep Dish play off almost all CDs anymore. Mainly because its much easier for looping and live remixing.

Long story, and I wasnt happy about it.

I got completley mashed the night before and was exhausted, so I was just going to stay in.

Then some friends came over and woke me up, they were all going to Pacha. I dont have my Amnesia pass yet, and I know one of the bouncers that works the door at Pacha.

About 15 minutes into Pacha I was wishing that I would have either stayed in or paid into Amnesia.

My friend is a dancer for Amnesia. She said Sven killed it, she even spent the last hour dancing in the booth with him.

I'm not going to miss the next one. But I'm kind of happy that I'm good and rested for the cream opener tomorrow night. We're getting there at midnight and leaving when they kick us out.

argh, sucks. Important party rule: never let yourself be dragged to a party you don't wanna go to.

She said Sven killed it, she even spent the last hour dancing in the booth with him.

ah, good old Sven in rare form He was quite good at the open air festival outside Frankfurt on Sunday, too. When he closed there at 10 pm, he told everybody over the microphone to come to the Cocoon opening, LOL

excellent plan. I totally agree on the midnight, I don't believe in this in-Ibiza-you-go-at-2am-crap, the night is short enough there in the first place.
Since you know people there, any idea if Peter is working one of the bars at Amnesia again? I get free water from him
