The Vanguard NYC Presents...

….:::: COLD FUSION ::::….

Saturday - October 12 - 2019

(iBreaks - Elektroshok Records - V.I.M. - NYC)

With releases on high profile record labels such as iBreaks, Elektroshok, Hardcore Beats, Broke, Electrofly and Bombtraxx, New York City based Wavewhore has established himself as one of the USA’s leading breakbeat producers. His skills behind the decks have also led to headlining appearances across the US, Europe and Asia as well as a long-running residency at New York City's legendary Sullivan Room. In addition, his music and DJ performances have been featured on many of the world’s top broadcast media outlets including BBC Radio 1 London, WKTU 103.5 FM New York, KISS FM London, RTE Dublin and Sirius Satellite Radio. Wavewhore has been called a “breakbeat master” by Liquid Todd (Sirius Satellite Radio) and “one of the USA’s finest breakbeat DJ/producers” by Jay Cunning (KISS FM London) while Breakbeat Online described him as “NYC’s finest export since the Beastie Boys”. His music has also received high level support from many of the top names in the business including Aquasky, DJ Icey, Jackal & Hyde, The Freestylers, General Midi, Elite Force, Annie Nightingale and many more.

(Broke As F*ck - Fraktured - LABA - Los Angeles)

Eva’s east coast roots have helped develop her taste in dark, dirty and raw party beats favoring miami bass, breakbeats, electro bass and everything in between. Her stylized selections have brought her to audiences around the nation, sharing the stage with such notable international artists including The Crystal Method, Stanton Warriors, Reid Speed, DJ Icey, Deekline & Wizard, Freestylers, General Midi, Krafty Kuts & Uberzone; as well as Miami based legends and personal heroes Dynamix II, Jackal & Hyde, Hydraulix, Supernaut, Merlyn, and many more. In addition to a rigorous solo DJ schedule Eva’s ongoing creative collaborative efforts have included extensive work with an all female roster of divas: JULZ MC has been a frequent partner in crime as well as dj crews, Bitches on the Switches & White On Rice, Divas. Her most successful pairing has been with west coast electro bass pioneer Athena, together known as Kimchee Love. For ten straight years you could catch her without fail at her monthly Hollywood breakbeat throwdown BROKE AS F**K (formerly BROKE on Sundays), steadily keeping the breakbeat vibe alive in Los Angeles beginning in 2007, and until an extended hiatus pressed pause in 2017. With the recent launch of the Los Angeles chapter of national broken beat collective Fraktured, things are ramping up once again in SoCal for the breakbeat movement - and EVA is planted firmly in the center. In the meantime, look for her as she continues to rinse out sweaty crowds across the nation.

Music aficionado and notorious troublemaker William Szabo is a producer, disc jockey and drummer, residing in Brooklyn New York. Cutting his teeth in clubs and small bar rooms in Boston Massachusetts since age 16 as a drummer, he became fascinated with the world of electronic production, acquiring whatever second hand gear he could find for cheap. By his college years he was throwing parties and playing regularly with band members from places as diverse as Imagine Dragons and Dopapod, and was even mentored by Outkast’s recording engineer. Since the move to the big apple, he has spun his way through some of the city’s finest clubs and parties such as Black Flamingo, Cameo Gallery and Jupiter Disco. Touring domestically and internationally in Spain and Mexico his music is as diverse as the places he travels every year. Still digging for vinyl everywhere that he goes, his passion for music is evident in every set that he plays.

(Cmnd:Z - Dekonstrukt - NYC)

(Signal Flow Radio - Tsunami Bass - Vanguard NYC)

Ian Hayes' (LightsOut) musical tastes were forged at a young age with grunge, punk rock, early electronica and hip hop. He went from electric bass to the decks at the age of 17. Beginning to experiment with production soon after, he was inspired by the darker electronic sounds of acid techno, hard trance, trip hop, industrial, and especially drum'n'bass. He applies the early love of the dark sounds with attempts to create futuristic atmospheres and "journey" type story telling in the DJ set. Graduating from Appalachian State University for Audio production with a double bass concentration in 2010, he formed a connection with Nu-Soul Magazine and moved from North Carolina to Los Angeles, CA where he became affiliated with Westbay Music, soon followed by Signal Flow Radio, a weekly show that provides a glimpse into the excellent drum'n'bass talent that LA has to offer. Now residing in Brooklyn, NY, LightsOut is attempting to continue the Signal Flow tradition in an east coast edition on, as well as DJing and producing drum'n'bass, techno, and other electronic genres. Recently becoming involved with the Tsunami Bass crew and Vanguard NYC, roots are beginning to be put down once again on the east coast.
