Ted Cruz is such a clown that even his dad won't vote for him!

Ted Cruz's father backs GOP chairman's rival

A Tea Party challenger trying to oust an incumbent House Republican committee chairman got a boost from Sen. Ted Cruz's father.

Rafael Cruz endorsed Katrina Pierson in her Texas GOP primary race against Rep. Pete Sessions, chairman of the House Rules Committee, reports the Dallas Morning News.

"She's a strict constitutionalist. She's a strong conservative and she wants to do what's right," Cruz is quoted as saying.

Sen. Cruz, a favorite of the Tea Party movement, has not chosen sides in the Sessions vs. Pierson race. The elder Cruz, a pastor who has become a sought-after speaker, sparked controversy with his comment during his son's 2012 Senate race that President Obama should "go back to Kenya."

Sessions, also a former chairman of the House GOP campaign committee, is in his ninth term in Congress. Pierson was also aided at her Dallas fundraiser by conservative columnist Michelle Malkin.

Ted Cruz — who voted against Hurricane Sandy aid — calls for federal relief following Texas floods

BY Denis Slattery

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Thursday, May 28, 2015, 12:36 AM

Texas Sen. and Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz — who voted against aid in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy — called for federal relief Wednesday in the wake of devastating floods and storms that have ravaged his home state.

The Tea Party darling said he supports “the federal government fulfilling its statutory obligations, and stepping in to respond to this natural disaster,” in regards to the barrage of storms that have left at least 21 people dead and 11 others missing.

Cruz, 44, voted against a federal disaster relief bill after Sandy ravaged the East Coast in October 2012 calling the measure “symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington – an addiction to spending money we do not have.”

I think like Huckabee, he knows he has no shot and is just running for the sake of brand awareness that can be parlayed into profit. Huckabee had been constantly shilling for dubious products and services ever since his first run. Just recently, he'd been finally coming under fire for being the spokesman for a quack diabetes cure that's essentially cinnamon pills. Many conservative voters are older and are suckers for anyone in a position of authority that represents their views. Plus, it's a downright certainty that just about anyone who runs for the GOP and loses has a spot waiting for them on Fox News or on a lobbying firm.
