Obama to order immunity for young illegal immigrants...Anchors away!

President Obama has ordered his administration to stop deporting young immigrants who came to the U.S. as young children and who do not pose a security threat, senior administration officials said this morning.
Effective immediately, young immigrants who arrived before they turned 16 will be allowed to apply for work permits as long as they have no criminal history and meet a series of other criteria, officials said.
The change comes at crucial moment in a presidential campaign that will turn in part on who wins over Latino voters.
Republican leaders, including GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, have argued for greater efforts to identify and deport anyone living in the U.S. illegally -- including those who have lived and worked here for years, not just those found guilty of committing crimes.
Since securing his party’s nomination, some within the GOP have urged Romney to take a softer approach. But he has not yet taken a stance on more lenient proposals aimed at accommodating concerns of young people.
Obama has called for a broad overhaul of immigration policy and embraces the concept of Dream Act legislation, which would create a legal way for immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children to stay in the country.
The change the administration is announcing today would allow illegal immigrants under the age of 30 to stay and work in the country if they don't pose a national security or public safety risk.
Disqualified from application would be immigrants convicted of crimes, violent criminals, felons and repeat offenders of immigration law.
Those who show that they meet the criteria will be eligible to apply for deferred action on deportation for a period of two years. That status will be renewable, one official said.
They will also be able to apply for authorization to work.
Under the new rules, eligible individuals would have to meet a series of requirements in order to apply. They must have come to the U.S. before they turned 16 and must have resided in the U.S. continuously for at least five years.
They must be present in the U.S. right now, and be enrolled in school, hold a high school diploma or GED or serve in the U.S. military. Veterans who have been honorably discharged would also be eligible.
They cannot be convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense or more than one misdemeanor, or for some other reason pose a security or safety threat.
Obama plans to discuss the announcement in the Rose Garden later today.

Most brilliant campaign move yet though. Let's see how many votes from Latinos Romney gets after this. Could be checkmate now. This is the eqivalent of Barry promising free guns to everyone to get the undecided redneck vote. Although, I guess that's probaly mutually exclusive. Rednecks don't vote for black people.

Mexican President to Obama: Hey, Thanks For Not Deporting People Back to Mexico!

President Obama is in Mexico for the G20 Summit and received a warm welcome from Mexican President Felipe Calderon. How warm was it? Calderon thanked Obama for his illegal immigration executive order last week, or in other words, thanked him for not deporting people back to Mexico who violated U.S. Code by entering the U.S. illegally.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon praised President Obama on Monday for taking "unprecedented" action in moving to stop deportations of young illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children.
Calderon said Obama's move took "valor and courage" and that he's sure many families in the United States are appreciative of the president's action.
Im glad the us can take care of Mexican welfare.

This is a congressional issue, Barry has no right sticking his golf spikes into this one. The democrats in congress should be applauded as well, total abuse of the executive order.

Barry brilliantly cornered him with this. If Romney comes out against it, he'll lose what little support he has from Latino voters. If he's for it, there'll be a shit-storm from right-wingers, impacting his campaign contributions.

Rubio: Obama Immigration Order Has 'Poisoned the Well'

Sen. Marco Rubio is accusing the president of playing politics with the immigration issue, saying his order providing relief from deportation to young undocumented immigrants has “poisoned the well” for reaching a balanced agreement on immigration.
The Florida Republican told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren Tuesday night that people will say, “This just made it harder because it poisoned the well and changed the dynamics. . . . What is to stop the president now?
“Can he decide not to enforce the immigration law at all? And some argue that’s exactly what he’s done before we got to this point,” Rubio said.
By using his executive powers, Rubio said the president had simply chosen to ignore the congressional process, the Constitution, and the concerns of the American people.
“Unfortunately, the way the president’s done this, there is no discussion . . . by flat shoving this down the throat of the American people,” Rubio said. “And more importantly, he’s ignoring the Constitution, ignoring the congressional process.”
“From a practical point of view, what the president has done is going to make it harder for us to arrive at a reasonable, bipartisan, balanced approach to these kids’ situation,” the senator added.
Asked about whether the order was an unlawful exercise of executive power, Rubio stopped short of calling it “unconstitutional,” but said he thought it would be hard to defend in court.

Dear Senators Schumer and Gillibrand,
As you know, our nation is experiencing its most trying economic times since the Great Depression. Twenty million Americans are having trouble finding jobs and putting food on the table, many right here in New York. That's why I was so confounded to recently hear that President Obama's bypassed Congress to unilaterally award amnesty and work permits to 2-3 million illegal aliens.
His unprecedented abuse of executive privilege will make it harder for people right here in New York to find jobs. Recent college grads can't find jobs. Immigrants who settled here last year can't find jobs. So, why would the President want to make it easier for people here illegally to take American jobs? Why would we reward lawbreakers and incentivize more illegal immigration? The answer is simple and predictable: It's election year politics at its worst.
The United States gives new work permits to 1.5 million immigrants and other foreign workers each year--not including the illegal aliens. When our nation is trillions in debt and has a shortage of millions of jobs, there is simply no way to justify these numbers. Taxpayers end up subsidizing the Americans who lose their jobs because of immigration.
It has been said that during bad times, 'we the people' find out what kind of leaders we've elected. Here's your chance to show us your leadership skills. Please, take immediate action to repeal President Obama's amnesty and work permits for millions of illegal aliens. Unemployed Americans desperately need jobs, and they're depending on you.
