Hailing from the nation’s capital, Mike Haddad and Royce Haven have helped shape DC’s house-music scene for the last six years and counting. Past residencies at some of the city’s most prestigious venues, such as Club Five, Indebleu, and Dragonfly put these two on the radar of world renown djs and producers alike. Mike and Royce have played alongside household names such as Dr. Kucho!, Luke Fair, Desyn Masiello, Scumfrog, Satoshi Tomiie, Hector Romero, Jimmy Van M., DJ Rap, Saeed, Behrouz, and Chris Fortier, to name but a few.
Their passion and talent for playing and producing music culminated in the inception of their record label, Witty Tunes. Influenced by many different genres and sounds, the Witty Tunes label, the artists it showcases, and Mike and Royce’s original work all have touches of funk, disco, and progressive drives. Featured artists on the label include Add2Basket, Shik Stylko, Interplay AKA: Fine Taste, Mike Hoska, Artego AKA: BLENdbRANK, Dr.Kucho!, and Nightriders. Adding icing to the cake, Witty Tunes has been featured in MIXMAG, DJMAG, Pete Tong’s Essential Mix, and with a number-one song on Xpressbeats.
Mike and Royce have taken their flair for production to the next level by forming a trio, Sheeple, along with D.C. dj and producer Dave Cortex. Their original songs have been charted and featured on multiple labels. The mix you are about to hear is just a little flavor of where Mike Haddad and Royce Haven have been…and where they’re going.
