Got to the club with Jorge around midnight and made it in swiftly, thanks Ruben. There weren't too many people there yet so we just chilled outside for a while, enjoying a beautiful evening (2 for 2 on beautiful nights to go out on). We're just sitting there when I see Ben (rubyraks) standing right in front of us, nice timing! So we hang with him for a while on his bachelor evening (less than a week away buddy!!) until I swore I heard the music change. So Jorge and I went in and sure enough Nick was spinning. They had them set up on the stage so you could easily see. It was about 1.30 when he came on and he and Jody tag teamed for a half an hour or so, just playing some mellow tracks, mostly breaks until Jody played the Age of Love track that everyone is canning right now. Having heard that track for the past 8 years, it was time for another trip outside.

When we came back in about 2, 2:15 they were getting ready to play live. They opened up with a couple of tracks that must have been new as I didn't know them and the the singer was doing her thing. Good tracks and decent lyrics, though they could have effected her voice some more. It was pretty dry for all the swirling music underneath.

They played for about 45mins. and the only tracks I recognized was a track off their last album and The Gift. They were good, but seemed to lack a little energy compared to other live acts I've seen. But it was fun seeing them live as I've loved their stuff since Ajare (around '94).

After they finished Nick came on and played a lot of great tracks starting with Luke Chable-the Shepard, then going into mark otten-tranquility (markus schulz remix) 2 tracks I really love right now! He played for about 30-40 minutes than Jody came on. Well Jody, he's ok, plays ok tracks, but unfortunately he doesn't have much flow, nor can he mix very well so it kind of brought things down for me. And Nick only came back on for another 20 minutes or so before Jody finished up around 5. Then they had whoever the resident was play at which point we decided it was time to go.

So over all it was a fun night and it was cool to see a band I've loved for years live, but next time I think I'll just stick to seeing Nick by himself.
