For all of the hype that the major Ibizan clubs receive, it's amazing that one of the best parties on the island is at a little club in the middle of nowhere. DC10 is an after-hours joint located near the Ses Salines salt flats and is about the size of the chill out areas at most NYC clubs. Most of the partying goes on outside on the terrace, with the dark inside portion of the club reserved for reloading on the party favors (the ones that are inconvenient in windy areas). The stucco walled terrace has sail-like tarps providing some shade from the brutal Balearic sun. As the tarps billow in the wind, they create slits big enough to watch landing airplanes so low that their landing gear seems to come perilously close to one's head. There is a bar in the middle of the terrace that even serves mini-magnums of champagne for those in the mood for a decadent chaser for their prime Columbian powder. A smaller bar is situated in one of the corners for those who are too lazy or incapacitated to fight the crowd at the central bar. This one also sells rolling papers for the obligatory hash/weed hangover cure. " />

Circo Loco party on the terrace

DC10 attracts a crowd of local club employees, jet-setters, Ibizieros and tourists "in-the-know" stumbling out of Space on Monday for an "after"-after-hours. Everyone checks their attitude at the door and parties with reckless abandon like amongst best friends and family. I had not seen such a Twilo-like vibe anywhere outside of Twilo. To tell the truth, DC10's vibe probably out-Twilos Twilo. The Monday Circo Loco parties have developed quite a following and unlike the mega clubs actually play tracks that you might not have heard in every store, elevator, cab and pizza shop on the island.

Some advice: Either rent a car to get there or make friends with someone there who has a car. While you'll find a cab anywhere that will take you there, when you crawl out of the club at 4:30 p.m., there will be NO cabs that will pass by DC10 or even stop for you if they do. Walking about three miles in the baking sun to the nearest cab stop is less than fun. This place is inconvenient for a reason.
